I'm an American I was just there in China, and it blew my mind , every you mentioned is true I have a 10 year visa I'm going back for sure. Loved every minute and it's so safe .
I am a Chinese, I don’t know how foreign media report my country (BBC’s rumors about Xinjiang make me very angry). China is not perfect, but the public security is very good. I graduated from university five years ago. This year I bought my own house. I only need to pay a loan of 3,000 yuan a month, which is equivalent to one-fourth of my monthly salary. I am looking forward to what our country will develop into in the future.
China did not start maligning other countries like you know who. China always seek cooperation, not conflict. Stop any conflict from spiraling out of control. Cops with no guns. No use of guns in border disputes with India. Use of water cannons only in the South China Seas. etc.
I was living in China to study in 1977 to ‘79 then I came back k to Oz and returned again in ‘81- 83
Been visiting several times since then and as I’m from a Scottish / Italian immigrant in Australia i loved China even in those days of extreme poverty in villages people were great and would help me speak and understand the culture
Western media portrays such a terrible picture
People just need to see for them selves
I’d love to live there awhile more but now I’m a great Granma and think that they may not want someone so slow holding them
I totally recommend traveling to China.
I had my initial bias but after traveling there I took an interest in China and I learned a lot more about it.
You can learn a lot from YouTube as well.
China is exotic, exciting and beautiful.
Elon, you need to update the info. The pollution in big cities are no more! We visited in 2023 and surprisingly found no pollution. You should try India, you will see the pollution all over and every day!
One major correction here is that the air quality is now much improved in small and big cities throughout the country due to the development of green technologies
Next week I am off for my sixth visit for five weeks, what a culture shock. I hate communism but found the people were happier than in the west. China is just magical, the people, food, and every province has its own food and culture and everything is colourful. I love China it is not involved in constant wars like the US, And I love it.
I'm from the collapsed UK and I've lived in China for years and I am well travelled. China is by far the best country on Earth by a long way. You can't go to China and not like it.
I think part of the west understanding problem is China moves and recovers extremely fast because they work together. I’ve always felt safe while traveling. Amazing , friendly people and country the art , workmanship , infrastructure and natural beauty were amazing. The way I would describe part of it is living on the outside of a beehive. The thing I didn’t like was the amount of cigarette smoking in the areas I visited.
China is super safe, clean, and 1st class infrastructure, more advanced in many aspects than US. Yes, you can't criticize CCP in China, just like you can't criticize Jews or blacks or...... in the US.
China is really still a developing country by the definition of the UN and OECD codified and specified standards by per capita GDP, the reason being there are just too many people in China, roughly 1.45 billion people.
That's probably why China doesn't pay much attention to the US-led smear campaigns against China of a wide myriad kinds, but concentrate on improving the life of the entire population of China, so that someday in the future China will be a developed country by UN and OECD standards.
Ya i love China too, went there for 9 months last year and the Hong Kong police checked on me exactly ten times. In certain months they checked on me two times, the last time they waited for me to get out of the HK Central Library from the back door. They looked at my bag which had documents and laptop was so caring. Everybody felt so safe, air of freedom are everywhere in China.
China and chinese means to me business, great food, fast changing, great airports, roads. I travel from Bejeng, Shanghai, Hangzhou. It was like traveling in the USA from Boston to Miami, but the infrastructure is high quality. President Trump is right. USA's wars and military build up is destroying US from inside. We need to clean up drugs, believe again in hard work, strengthen family, and have good ethics.
I went to China 3 times in the past year. There is no such pollution that you speak of. I went to a lot of cities to. Don’t think you have been back to China for a long time.
Thanks so much for your honesty!!
Although I am not living in USA, I am looking forward to see Mr. Musk to help build a better USA where every US citizen will enjoy a peaceful and affluent live without worrying about how to pay the rent, food and medical bill.
God bless you Mr. Musk!
Well said Elon, here is my perception on liberal democracy system we living in today.
The long-term legitimacy of any ruler or governing system ultimately depends on its ability to deliver tangible benefits to the vast majority of its people. If a government consistently fails to do so over an extended period, it will inevitably lose legitimacy. This is not something to be taken lightly.
In my opinion , the success of the current ruling party in China stems from its acute sense of crisis , a recognition that complacency is dangerous. They are constantly evaluating how to continue delivering positive results to their citizens , ensuring that they do not take their position for granted.
Of course, China still faces many challenges that need to be addressed. However, overall, its current policies—whether in technological innovation development, infrastructure, livelihood issues, energy policy, and more…. continue to have more advantages than drawbacks.
By contrast, one of my concerns about liberal societies, as an outside observer, is that their ruling elites often assume their legitimacy is inherent. They believe they are legitimate simply because they adhere to liberal principles, regardless of their actual performance. At the same time, they may view non-liberal systems as inherently illegitimate, simply by virtue of being illiberal. This kind of complacency can breed defeatism, which I believe would be unfortunate.
In today’s era, we see an increasing number of liberal democracies struggling with governance failures more than any other political system. I would prefer to see a world where multiple models of governance can coexist and compete where different approaches are tested and refined over time. In this regard, the Chinese system does not seem to be in immediate danger, as it continuously operates with a sense of urgency and commitment to delivering results. That, in my view, is what true legitimacy is about.

Americans have always been stuck in the technology and thinking of the Cold War era between the United States and the Soviet Union!
The United States has always believed that the collapse of the former Soviet Union was due to the defeat of the former Soviet Union (pure communism) political system by the American political propaganda (two-party/vote system) by the government system. The key is that the former Soviet Union's economic system was too rigid, which led to the economic collapse and the disintegration of the former Soviet Union. Americans believe that the (two-party/vote system) government system is the best political system in the world. How can they reflect and reform? Now that there is a problem, they will still feel very strange. It must be someone else's mistake that caused the problem in the United States. Therefore, they have always regarded China (group decision-making (elite governance), not Xi Jinping's (socialism with Chinese characteristics/communism), not the Soviet Union's pure communism) as the key to the problem in the United States. If they continue to follow this line of thought, the United States will really be finished. The Chinese philosophy is that there is no best thing in the world, only better things. Try to constantly improve yourself, including ordinary people who will take the neighbor Lao Wang as an example and find their own shortcomings every day. After World War II, the military-industrial complex was kidnapping the US government, and the US government launched several wars around the world. Moreover, among the many reflections of Americans, one view has been particularly prominent in recent years. More and more people believe that it was the military-industrial complex and Wall Street that kidnapped the US government and dragged the United States into three wars, "destroying three countries, bringing down the United States, and fattening the military-industrial complex."
What a shame! Youtube should be taken to court for allowing advertising promoting criminal ideas about human health. Its just greed, stronger than decency and honor. Youtube is simply disgusting.
After reading comments about Chayinaa people who hasn't even visited Chayinaaa atleast once. I can imagine how Military Industrial Mediyaa companies Bryin Waaashshsheeed commen Westiorn people. Very sad
Reported that Elon mother lives in China! One thing that comes to my mind is that she doesn’t have to hire bodyguards when going out in China vs that she might have to hire bodyguards in the west! that could be a big saving! Also there are tons of 5 stars hotels , restaurants etc having super quality food! Dim sum lunch! Just name one!
You want to know china. Talk to Dave Wilton he walked across it. Some time after 1978.... David.
Can be found in Pennsylvania Pittsburgh PA Bethel park...
Visiting and living in any countries is a very different experience than staying and working with the local people and communicating in the local language. For China, freedom of expression and overseas information is restricted, banned to be precise. Don't ever forget China has been ideologically communistic, not "Western Democracy". Also, the East and West never meets, no matter how much one thinks otherwise.
l had have no doubts about China until corona pandemic. But China's behaviour in that pandemic period is absolutely suspicious. China was first to get infected by virus but surprisingly China handled it as an experienced and wel trained institution to handle it which I can't digest.
China likes the West is not a market driven economy i.e., the Gov intervening economic.
eg. China subsidizes Tesla as I googled:
Subsidies
Loans: Chinese-state owned banks provided $521 million in loans at favorable interest rates
Tax rate: The Shanghai gov't offered a 15% corporate tax rate to Tesla from 2019 to 2023
Land grant: The government provided land for the factory
Trade-in subsidies: Consumers who trade in their old vehicles for new energy vehicles receive subsidies
Purchase tax exemption: New energy vehicles are exempt from the vehicle purchase tax
Final benifit all,, tell me sir,, l am a traveler but my frd never going any wr but he is happy better then me, l can't go any wr l am unhappy body will never allow to do
Chinese officials are trained and nurtured iver years and evaluated by oeopke they serve in various sectors .
Onky the better obe get promosed and oncecsgain evakuated before being promoted to the next level.
What do you say about China’s threat to take over Taiwan by military force, isolating Taiwan from world organizations, such as UN, WHO and many others? How about building military bases on artificial islands in South China Sea and attack fishing boats? These are peace loving Asian people just trying to survive. China’s military ambition is the truth, not Western propaganda.
The first question stu pid westerners ask is always "is Communist China oppressing its people.... " "is Tibet here or xi jiang there....", just ask the americans if they have press freedom or are they being monitored....
Ok EM, we have re-subscribe back to your channel due to you and Ttump shutting down on USAID which had been horribly corruptedly misused. Keep it up EM.
The frog in the chamber has a free speech, never mind what outside the chamber was, as long as they can have free speech, they always say yes to any information come to their eyes and ears
Hey, how you can do a tube when you're so busy? Lol and yes I were writing to s few Chinese girl and they are fun cool and lite, paste this " china library" dems can never explain this. Lol
I am glad that foreign visiters to China can learn to understand the real China and respect the cultural differences. My hope is that common people in China can also come to the realization that Taiwan can be a very good ally, just like UK to America, if only China discards its single minded idea that Taiwan has to be part of China, for the Chinese to prosper. A very good example that is happening right now is that Trump has just made the assertion that Canada should be the 51th state of America, look how Canadians would react. How does antagonizing ethinically related friends in any way benefit the Americans.
Superficially, PRC China is glamourous at a glance. The H/W is great, but how about the software inside their human hearts? Can you see through? What are they thinking in their hearts?
How about talking about taking the organs of up to millions of Falonggong practitiioners, including other who have believes? All the darkness you did not see or know?
We can yell "down with Trump, hate capitalism" on the street of Washington DC. Can you do the same thing in Beijing, China? Haha, that's the different. That's how depressing you are when you are struggling to live your daily life in China.
Proverbs 19:4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour. 6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. 7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
TELL ME NOW, IS THE BIBLE LYING!
Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
