Will the recent deterioration of U.S.-Europe relations bring China and Europe closer? Chinese scholar Ding Yifan rejects this possibility, arguing that aside from the structural incompatibility between China and Europe, China's public sentiment towards Europe has gone downhill since Ursula von der Leyen took office, making it unrealistic to picture a detente around the corner.

Why would China appease Europe ? Europe has done little to improve relations with China.
Apparentlly Europe does not realize there are other continents. China has focused on its goals and does not worry about irrevelant activites. An English official accused China of interfering in English Economic activities. In a diplomatic way, the Chinese official asked why China would be concerned about insignificant economic activities.
Its not even feasible to split them, they are two nuclear super power neighbors that also cooperate in times of constant sanctioning from the US, its not wise for them to split apart for security AND economical reasons.
Excellent analysis: clear, logical and objective. Europe is entering a self-centered phase. Without natural energy resources and a costly labour force, it would be looking inward and lose its competitive edge. China, on the other hand, will slow down its Belt and Road initiative in Europe to almost a halt, developing quickly thanks to African and Asian destinations, as well as Russia. It is obvious who is going to be a loser and who is going to be a winner.
The EU has totally wrong perception about itself. It is not in a position to have such a demand to China. Even the US can't do it. Von der Leyen has always been hallucinating.
This show China trusted Russia more than Europe since time immemorial and the relationship between China and Russia even getting stronger and stronger by the day.
I am not sure anyone should feel grateful to the Europeans and the West in general. The Europeans got to where they are because they plundered everything. Including technology and skills. While they were using iron and bronze for their infighting. Asia(which includes West Asia or labeled Middle East by the Brits. Asia was using steel and other very advanced materials. Such as porcelain otherwise known as China. And as for agriculture. That was also advanced in the non-European world. Things like the cotton gin and other technologies were already used well before the West took credit for it. China already had come up with a very ancient mechanical analog computer. We all know of silk, gun powder, and so on from China. But there are so many other things which we are made to think we're the inspiration and innovations of the West. For instance paper currency was a Chinese innovation. If not for the murderous colonial rampage that pillaged and plundered from the rest of the world. The West would still be a backward civilization. The third world and developing world would be the West. What the West's only real accomplishments are. It is being the most aggressively hostile civilization in history. The most devious and deceptive civilization. Darkly cunning and violently murderous.
No one can tell China what to do. At the first meeting between the Biden administration and the Chinese in Alaska. The arrogant Blinken spent half an hour telling the Chinese delegation what America under the new Biden administration expected of China. In reply the Chinese diplomat speaking in Chinese although he speaks perfect English said The United States must learn that they are now in no position of power to tell China what to do. I could have cried
There is no more honor in European leaders, much less steadfast friendships. Russia, on the other hand, being spurned by Europe so many times, and was given a lifeline the last decade, have a strong sense loyalty to China, not as a inferior but as an equal.
tried explaining neo-colonialism to my local South Africans and it always goes over their heads. Colonial mindset is profitable for the Global North and they will never abandon their model
The Europeans need to reset their priorities. The Russian Federation is what can bring Europe out of it's economic, social, political decline. This is the only path to restore prosperity for Europe & especially Germany. Unless Europe pivots quickly, it will be decline and become even more inconsequential as a minor, irrelevant region of the World.
That's why the EU is cosing up to India now, praising Modi to the moon even deep down they know that India is all talk and illusions... Maybe can still continue to buy cheap refined Russian oil from India!
'We’re offering China a chance to join the civilized world, but you need to do blah blah blah for us.' Europe has echoed this line endlessly, again when the U.S. turned its back on them. This is the same condescending attitude they’ve shown toward the Global South. I’m so tired of it.
China tried to restore the "Silk Road" to Europe so that its products would not have to be imported to Europe by sea, but by rail. This bothered someone very much, and so there is a war in Ukraine and there is no land route from China to Europe, and someone is profiting from it. It is not Ukraine or Russia.
The official opinion and what main stream media says is NOT what more than 30% of the well informed, intelligent and mature citizens think - it's just that the wrong ones seem to sit in too many positions of power - especially in Europe
Lee kuan yu, said it best 20 years back, the EU will fail, because theirs to much bureaucracy in the European Union, no real central leadership, with long term plans. Way to many, different cultures and languages, will cause strife, not to mention southern European countries, don’t perform better then the Northern European countries economically.
China has been consistently and rapidly growing for decades because it does the right things for its people and in fact, for the world also. Europe should be more humble and really learn from the master. Don't try to pretend you are in any way superior please!
Yurp never get's it: India, China, Russia:: ENORMOUS nuclear neighbours that have to live right next to each other: They are not like Genocidalny, Cheesistan or Britlamabad.
Living in Denmark, i can tell you, that this kind of information, would never hit mainstream news. And thats all we got. Crittical journalisem died during covid plandemic.
When Russia also invaded Chinese territory in Manchuria, China could appease other countries...let s be real the hydrocarbons matter more than doing the right thing so it is difficult to take the high moral ground. The war has gone hardly well for Russia, it could not conquer Ukraine in 3 years. As for Chinese andEU trade it will not change the fact that as an authoritarian one party system with no freedom of the press it would never be a political or military ally nor would the EU ask for that, it only asked to not prop up Russia economically. Naturally they refused due to BRICS alliance and law of the jungle.
Given the exigencies of European countries, inevitably they will crawl to China; at least in the immediate future eat humble pies toward China! Chin, however, will have to take a page off US in dealing and containing EU over the interim and long term time!
I thought alot about racism and I think t’s not even about race anymore—not in the way it was during the civil rights era. The raw, unapologetic racism of that time has diluted, but what’s replaced it is something just as insidious: a pervasive sense of arrogance and superiority that’s seeped into the fabric of Western culture, especially in America. It’s not just about skin color; it’s about attitude. Americans, and those heavily influenced by American culture, have developed this look-at-me mentality that’s hard to ignore. Let’s be real: Americans are like this with *everyone*—even each other. Just turn on the TV, scroll through social media, or watch the latest reality show. The obsession with fame, the need to be the loudest in the room, the constant one-upping—it’s all there. American culture today is a mirror of its behavior: self-centered, insular, and obsessed with its own reflection. The problem is, America doesn’t look outward. It doesn’t care to. Everything is about *us*—our trends, our drama, our opinions. The rest of the world? Barely a blip on the radar. And that’s the tragedy. This inward focus has created a culture that’s disconnected, entitled, and, frankly, exhausting.
It’s about a mindset, a cultural arrogance that’s become second nature. And until Americans start looking beyond their own borders, beyond their own egos, this behavior isn’t going anywhere. It’s not just unfortunate—it’s a damn shame.
