US politicians and media outlets complain about China's growing global influence, but offer no alternatives to help countries develop. China has the world's largest economy, produces inexpensive manufactured goods everyone wants, invests trillions in infrastructure, and doesn't interfere in internal affairs of foreign nations. Ben Norton compares what Washington and Beijing have done in Latin America, especially Peru and Nicaragua.

I'm not worried or afraid of China. I am totally concerned about the U.S. war policies and its thirst for destruction, power, and control over resources and humanity
I really appreciate U.S. citizens who speak out against their tyrannical government and try to educate others on these matters. Thank you for your support. This was the first video I've ever watched from this channel and I just subscribed.
As an African I am here to tell you that the whest lost Africa after doing what it did in Libiay in 2011. Nothing will undo that. We will never forget that.
That mega port in Peru was first offered to the US and G7 countries to do, but they all declined! Only later did Peru turned to China to get the port built! So why is the US so butt-hurt when it didn’t want anything to do with the project anyway?
America wants to start looking after its own country and it's own people with so many homeless people now they should come first not supporting proxy wars
As someone who was born and raised in the Middle East, pursued education up to the Ph.D. level, and has spent the past two decades in the United States, I would like to share some observations that I have reflected on during my time here:
1. Perception of Superiority: Many Americans perceive the United States as the pinnacle of civilization, often dismissing the rest of the world as underdeveloped or chaotic. However, having lived in the Middle East and experienced its infrastructure firsthand, I can attest that many countries in the region boast urban planning, roads, healthcare, and transportation systems that are significantly more advanced than what I have encountered in the United States.
2. Cultural Disconnection: A significant portion of Americans seem to lack a strong cultural identity or sense of belonging. This can sometimes give the impression of a society that is fragmented or directionless, particularly when compared to regions where cultural heritage and social cohesion are deeply rooted.
3. Selective Compassion: It is striking how deeply Americans can care for individual animals—such as mourning a pigeon in their backyard or dedicating extensive resources to the well-being of pets—yet show limited concern for the billions of people suffering from hunger, war, or systemic oppression globally. This disparity in empathy often highlights a narrow focus that overlooks the broader challenges facing humanity.
4. Double Standards in Global Affairs: There is a pervasive tendency to view similar actions through vastly different moral lenses depending on who is involved. For instance, many Americans vilify certain countries for acts of violence or aggression while justifying or ignoring similar actions when carried out by their own government or allies. The inconsistency becomes glaring when considering the global response to Ukrainian, Iraqi, Afghan, Palestinian, Yemeni, or Uyghur suffering. It raises the question: why is one form of suffering condemned while another is minimized or excused? This selective outrage reflects a troubling bias that can erode trust in America’s moral authority.
5. Power Dynamics and “John Wayne” Syndrome: There is a noticeable pattern in how Americans approach relationships, often prioritizing dominance and control over collaboration. While cooperation is valued superficially, it often comes with an expectation of submission from others. If someone outperforms or challenges this dynamic, it can be met with resistance or resentment. This mindset, which I call the “John Wayne Syndrome,” reinforces hierarchies rather than fostering mutual respect and equality.
This list is by no means exhaustive. In fact, it could go on and on, with countless additional examples illustrating these dynamics. These observations represent only a fraction of what could easily fill a list of 100 or more points.
From Iraq to Afghanistan to Libya to Palestine to Syria to Iran to Sudan to Somalia to Ethiopia to Vietnam to Laos to Cambodia to Myanmar to Pakistan to Philippines to India to Yugoslavia to Serbia to Mexico to Guatemala to Honduras to El Salvador to Columbia to Venezuela to Chile to Peru to Argentina to Bolivia to Ecuador to Granada to Russia to China to every freaking country on Earth there isn’t a single country on Earth that the US hasn’t invaded or militarily threatened in one way or another! The one country that has been a threat to every country on Earth at one point or another is the US! How come? How can a country that caused so many wars, deaths, and destructions across the world calls itself the good guy and paints all other countries as the evil ones? Maybe the real evil one is the one that constantly badmouthing others? Maybe the real evil one is the US? After all, it’s not rocket science to figure out since it’s plain to see!
The most courageous thing about China's investors is that they never regard infrastructure as a project that must make some profits. The infrastructure itself is part of a greater investment.
Just go to America and have a look at the place, it's the exact opposite to China. China has clean streets, America has filthy streets, China has the worlds best infrastructure, America's infrastructure is in total decay, 60% of the Chinese population are in the middle class, with money in the bank, in America 80% of the population live pay check to pay check. America has a national debt of $36 trillion and a house hold debt of $18 trillion, China's debt is zero. China's cities are safe to walk the street at night, in America the only people who venture out at night are the people with personal security or carry a weapon for self-defence.
Because China has showed to the world how the government should be which is put its people at first, your tax money should be used to improve infrastructure, schools , hospitals and your life should be better than your parents, not used to kill millions of innocent people.
We been there we know how does it feel been bullied and forced to accept those unfair treaties by western colonizers, that’s why China is helping countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia to stand up and fight its future together against them. Thank you Ben !
China is no threat to anyone countries , China is humble and always say no to war, China has a very good win-win foreign policy , China built roads and bridges in all poor developing countries. China lend us money as loan for lower interest rates. We love China
Thank you China for being the champion of modern socialism. Not only is China guaranteeing the survival of socialism, more importantly, the CPC/PRC is demonstrating to the world how a modernised socialism is an increasingly attractive model for other countries - especially developing countries, to consider adopting. During what could arguably be the most challenging period of human development, 'Socialism with Chinese characteristics' is proving to be a very adaptable and most progressive form of governance.
I have a great deal of admiration for the people of China and President Xi. Jiayou China and thank you for providing such an amazing example for the world to follow! Thank you for this excellent video Ben!
Difference between US and China- if China comes to others countries they will get new hospitals, schools or bridges, when US come they will get lectures
Thanks for the wonderful history of US imperialism in Latin America vs China’s attempt to uplift the economies of that region. Bravo for the good work!
Thank you, Ben, for pointing out the EXTREME difference between the US Capitalist System, VERSUS the Chinese govt. system. The two are polar opposites of each other.
You are so right, Ben. You have my full support. I have been living in the beautiful city of Kyoto for more than 48 years and I have been to China 37 times since 1983. I know you are right!
In Taiwan, the US is pressuring TSMC to move the production of its new 2nm chip technology to its newly built foundry in Arizona. It is also blocking TSMC from selling chips to its most important customers in China.
It’s also applying similar pressure on Samsung in Korea, and chip manufacturers in Japan.
Meanwhile, the export restrictions on American companies has caused the industry to go into what the Centre for International Strategic Studies calls a “death spiral”.
Not long ago, Intel announced the layoffs of 15,000 employees, despite the subsidies available from the Biden administration under the CHIPS Act.
Thus far, US efforts to stop China’s rapid economic and technological development have largely backfired, hurting the US and its allies more than it’s hurting their intended targets.
Excellent as always. The strength of a country comes from its people working diligently for a common goal. The decline of a country also comes from problems within its borders.
You build the infrastructure and lay down the ground work, and this infrastructure will in turn help Chinese business to move goods easier and faster across the world also.. win win
I hit $113k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started last month 2024. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject.
It's not surprising China is gaining global influence, while USA loses it. Who would want a superpower to keep imposing sanctions, coups, regime change, and color revolutions in countries? Most countries, especially developing countries are pragmatic, not idealistic.
When Blinky says China has the "diplomatic power" to challenge Amerikkka, what he really means is "people don't hate China because they don't bomb their countries". Shocker, Antony.
Three words for the new world order: China, China and China!
Didn't get it? Well, here's another three for you in another language: Russia, Russia and Russia!
Viva China and Russia!
Just last month we visited Kunming Shanghai linyi Qingdao city. Our opinion India is 30+ years behind china
USA Europe maximum sectors 10+ year's behind china.
Thank you for your great service and good reporting Mr Ben Norton...as I've said before you are the best person on investigative and research on political and private sector investment motives we are lucky to have you..manys thanks

Absolutely 100% true: I have lived and worked in China for 5 years. China wants two things:
-be a strong country internally: end with the country's poverty,
-Trade with the rest of the world.
And they have understood that if the other country is strong and developed, it will be able to trade with China with quality products. That is why China is helping other countries to develop.
If the USA don't understand that and continue acting like the bully in the school, they will lose a huge opportunity.
All the countries, including European, need to start thinking about which is their own production, so they can trade with others. This is what China is promoting. The countries that continue looking at their old paradigmas will be out of this global market and thus enter in another dark age or in civil wars.
Congratulations for your video!
US and the west have already lost African and South American markets, not to mention most Asian markets to China. This has been caused by their appalling Hegemonic/colonial attitude toward these nations. China does it better !!
Brazil on Wednesday, November 20th, signed 37 cooperation agreements with China in sustainable infrastructure, energy transition, digital economy, health and aerospace production.
The Argentine government, fervently aligned with the USA, is expanding debt with the IMF and increasing dependence on the American Dollar, which will certainly increase interference in internal policies and openness to the exploitation of the southern country's natural resources by foreign companies.
That was the reality of Brazil in the 1990's, and it was horrible. If any Brazilian public policy went against American interests, it would be a wave of statements from members of financial institutions saying that the country was unsafe for investment, worsening the "country risk" ranking and increasing debt interest rates.
"Do what I want or give me more money." It's like controlling a country with a short rein. And this makes any possibility of developing a country from the Global South impossible.
Kudos to Ben who has explained very clearly and truthfully on how and what China has done over the years, well explained and appreciated for all to hear!
China can provide developing countries with the high-quality infrastructure they urgently need, such as airports, ports, canals, roads, railways, and oil and gas pipelines. Can the G7 do the same?
USA has a lot to learn of China, is so much better have a partner that dosent make war and intervention in your country, that is real freedom and not just bull shit
Called correction not test diplomacy but reveals insolence and arrogance.
Action speaks louder than (mere ) words. In America there's a saying, " you have to WALK THE TALK " !
. Ben, I don’t know how you get away with telling so much truth.
The last guy that did this to the power was held up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for years
Thanks Ben, for another valuable geopolitical analysis cum report. China has become what it is today because among other things, American industry threw its healthy productive 'baby' out with its excess capitalist 'bath water', decades ago. As with many young male adolescents, America is too individualistic, unbearably aggressive, hypocritical and thin-skinned. Consequently a relatively young adolescent American warrior state still has pain to endure and a lot to learn. The best the American and global community can hope for is that older and wiser warrior nation states such as China and Russia will be able to initiate America into the world of adult statehood without having to inflict too much pain.
Dont forget of China’s demography, cultural, the citizen’s behavior/moral/character, their historical (literature, ancient civilization, arts and what not), that alone already wins over the US.
If the US wants to stay dominant , they then have to be better, just like NHL, MLB and NBA games, if they don't want to improve, they will stay at the bottom of the packs.
As Blinker said in his famous speech on the occasion of the anniversary of the terrible genocide committed in the city with the most Orthodox Christians in Japan - Nagasaki : "We, now more than ever before, must do everything in our power to prevent Russia from dropping an atomic bomb again... ". Who wouldn't love such a goodie, right?!
For the Newbie if you are actually trading in the crypto space and you don't have a sound mentor. Then you are certainly going to get liquidated in 90% of your trades. Yeah that's sad truth. I remember when i just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 i ended up selling it because i have lost alot trading all by myself without a guide. Got back into crypto early in 2024 with $20k and I'm up with $232k in a short period of time
American politicians must be embarrassed by how successful China is in global discussions.it's ALWAYS China China Chain!!
Whereas in China, politicians discussing how they can grow their people and economy. Strangely, Chinese people generally admire America in spite of the knowledge that America feels differently about them.
What a contrast!
These traits all come from the very root of Americans' unique nationality, which was well depicted by Jack London in "The Call of the Wild". The so-called superheroes are actually all supervillains.
If the US wants to invoke the Monroe Doctrine, it should implement it in its entirety. The first part pronounced that Latam is its sphere of influence and other powers must keep out The second part is reciprocal - the US will also keep out of the other powers' sphere of influence. What is good for the gander is good for the goose.
The Bible prophesied about the one world political system. "That old dragon, the devil will take over for a short time.
This should help Christians relax. It's going to get bad, but only for a short time. God bless Christians around the world.
Tristemente los latinoamericanos en su mayoría estamos más preocupados por discutir quien es mejor que en estar unidos y dejar al mundo saber de que estamos echos
Ben Norton you represent EXCELLENCE in reporting news and TRUTH. I am from Peru. Media here are under the thumb of the u.s.embassy, and has not reported that the trains were BOUGHT. Only fanfare about the "donation". THANK YOU.️
China does not invest in wars the U S does waisting taxpayers money on unnessary wars that is why they are in debt China builds n progress moving forward Trump thinks he is smart i love Chinas bridges South Africa 🇿🇦 All nations cultures n languages
For these people in the USA history starts in 1945 because they always talk like they are some greatest power etc but that's only the case in last 80 years so wtf they are mumbling about
USA didnt help rebuild my country Nicaragua after destroying our fragile economy with a war they illegally financed and embargo both lasted 10 years at least the UN had a little bit of shame and told them to help rebuild the little country they turned into rubble
What an insightful breakdown! It’s easy to get caught up in headlines, but videos like this help us understand the deeper trends. Appreciate the balanced approach here.
They US can't let them have peace at home at home but wouldn't let them migrate to US. They want them to die in destitution and despair . This is pure evil and wickedness.
It is refreshing watching a real analysis showing what really happens between China's commercial trade offers versus americas "support", specially coming from an american outlet
Why should one trade with someone who cant be trusted. Its like dealing with a hypocrite, a crook, a lier, a bully, a thief, exploiter, supporter of puppets, creator of dictators, traitor. etc.
And I think it's the best way to promote socialism. Instead of making coups every 5 seconds, Just show the world ''Eh, look how socialism has allowed us to developp our country, do you want to try it?
America used to be like that during the Marshall Plan. Since then, we exported intervention and neoliberalism to the global south, especially in our own "back yard," and even to Russia after the fall of the Berlin wall. The result in Russia is an autocratic oligarchy. Sound familiar?
One concentrating on developments whereas another creating issues ranging from cotton, balloon , and now garlic ! Next on the list could be onion or maybe pepper ?
I have a question for you... what's up with sleepy Joe's recent trip to Angola?
we know the Congo just recently discovered a massive mountain of copper, is there a connection?
The US focus should be on its domestic challenges, not China or any other global influence. Specifically their $ 34 trillion debt, the $3 trillion annual deficit, its lack of production, aging infrastructure
you have no idea how many times the Chinese leader tells Uncle Sam: "We have no intention to be the king of the world."
Uncle Sam won't listen.
They are so afraid to lose control of the world.
You have verbalized our past, current, and future situations under USA way of business, which benefits the 1% vs everyone else. China is gaining trust around the world because of their actions by helping building economies.
The US built military bases around the globe, not infrastructures. While China built infrastructure globally. It's not hard to see which one is seen as hostile, and the other one is friendly
China think if the countries help by them increase their economy ultimately will benefit to china too, they will buy more china’s product. China is genius, with this strategy, they attract a lot of poor countries in asia, africa and latin america to built prosperity together for mutual benefit. While Western countries still want to dominated and think that their economy will grow if they can suck up the economy of the country they help. I think western country should change drastically the strategy, world already changed, the approach should be different, china has a different approach than western country, and a lot country attracted. Who do not want to increase their prosperity ? And china offer them, while the west still think to maintain their hegemony. Please change, and we can live prosper together, make a lot of friend than enemy. I am sure west will be welcome again. The era is changed, you can’t be rich alone, the era is we growth richer together, now is the era of sharing, in economy also develope the sharing economy like Airbnb, coworking space, this is examples of sharing economy.
Instead of the US ramping its intelligent prowess that made USA, what it is, the leadership allowed special interest to wreak havoc on the DNA of this beautiful country.
Talking about non-interference policy, China has 1 foreign military base in the whole wide world, in Djibouti, while the US has 750 bases…..that is a waste of money & resources.
I m capitalist , however the capitalism nowdays. is SO CORRUPT that is beyond belief
We need a non- corrupt capitalism that helps those in need.
For CHINA 🇨🇳
I thoroughly enjoyed and just subscribed to your channel first time here but I am truly impressed not only with the knowledge which some of it I knew already but the really nice way of laying it out to be understood and consumed by hopefully an audience that is willing to learn and understand with truth and honesty with actual historical truths and details. On top of that it just like to point out one super important but funny thing really because it's amazing how we in America claim and say that China like you said is portrayed as a country that is bullying or threatening other countries to become their partners in the meantime they exact opposite is true with the ones that have been doing that forever and still do stubbornly and stupidly enough but they're doing these alternative more honest mutually respectful and beneficial projects and you know what It's coming from American money payments to the debt of America to China in other words American taxpayer dollars is truly paying for this through China and Chinese the one that not only will get the credit as it should but also the benefit. Trade policies in action America keep it up!!!!
I just think that's very funny that a good portion of American tax dollars is sent to try and every year to pay off the loans which we could never repay but try to at least repay the interest on the loans and that's the same money that's being used to fund all this infrastructures all over for China. So who's the capitalist the successful capitalist now!!!
America is beaten by China in its own game of geopolitical influence because of their difference that they offer doing deals that are more respectful and mutually beneficial and profitable moving countries that could never afford to do this on their own forward
U.S. government does not address problems until they have become disasters. One after another, Lain American countries have developed close relations with China. China is an economic powerhouse. And unlike the U.S., China is improving its domestic infrastructure.
In addition, the U.S. presidents provides threats and tariffs. China's efforts benefit it politically and economically. As China's education system improves it will become even more dominant. Saying the U.S. Government is "broke" would be a monumental understatement. If some American administration reverses the downward spiral, it will be considered a miracle.
When England sold the London bridge there was a song that goes like this London bridge is falling down falling down my fair lady. Insulting disrespect will make America great again
As a Peruvian, I really liked your video and agree with most of it. The only point I disagree with is about the US showing support to sacking the president in 2022. The "president" was an ignorant left-wing man that was involved in corrupt scandals since day one. So on the day Congress was about to vote to sack him (following the constitutional process) he gave a message nationwide saying that he was disolving Congress, and that was unconstitutional. So, it was important to have US support when authorities detained that guy.
Well it is to be expected after the enforced policy of the Washington Consensus, that created social havoc on people that needed support, not kicked in the guts. Doesn't take much to weigh up the situation
As an American, I'd rather we have a more free market, including total free trade.
Have our own government stop over-regulating and over-taxing domestic industries.
Then, we simply have goods produced wherever it is most economical to do so.
If that's domestic, great. If that's foreign, also great.
I'm not interested in any sort of trade war or having all these tensions with any other countries. If they want to restrict trade on their end, that's their business.
But, we should simply let the free market run its course and result in the best overall outcomes.
Maybe because we Chinese don’t care about the global power, we want our people to live better, that is the most important thing. And for the global power, come on, as a 5000 years country we found it is a little bit ridiculous to pursue for that.
Please give me a break. While China has been quietly investing in countries, USA has been causing destrucción around the world. For decades China has been investing in South & Central America, Africa, Serbia & the Caribbean.
Very interesting. New Zealand’s major trading partner is China and w do not fear China. With Trump as President, we are having very real concerns about world safety.🇳🇿
05:20 This video really made me think. It’s incredible how Turkey is using its position to show support for Ukraine in such a crucial time. The analysis here is spot on, and the details really highlight the significance of this move.
They’re a French commonwealth country in Latin America, hence why France says F the F35. Joins Turkey in making their own fifth gen and sixth generation fighter!
France and Britain still has a lot of Caribbean islands filled with British & EU citizens. To be called colonies of the U.S. is an insult- we were sovereign countries and empire when you were almost a failed British corporation colony. In the 1600’s! When many Latin American countries had cities older than first Anglo American settlers!
Yes, US want to invest but at the same time US wanted many many policies to be changed according to US hegemonic power. Even to the extend of topple the sitting leaders.
I suspect that the port in Peru will take a substantial amount of business from ports in California. Nonetheless, if US investors had built the port in Peru, I don't think anybody would be talking about US penalties for using it.
As far as that train that you were referring to and supposedly the donation again the difference is that not only we lie constantly and take credit for things we didn't do which is completely stupid but on top of that we sold them technology from a half a century ago and I bet you're China is going to go there as soon as they listen We could build you a fast train one of those bullet trains instead how about that would you like that So what do you think is going to happen then You think they will say no to that???
EVERY where US goes, it kept talking up
Schina schina schina.
Meeting Turkey, the topic is Schina.
Meeting Africa, the topic is Schina.
Meeting India, the topic is Schina.
Meeting South Africa, the topic is Schina.
What about our bilateral issues to discuss?
Thank you Ben for enlightening us of what truely is going on with this sick and corupted world. !! Glad that the globel south countries are finally having a chance to rise up and develope themselves with the help of China. Better days is at the horizen !!
The U.S. "gift" of 40 year old trains is hilarious. Perfect metaphor for U.S. technological prowess. Please world, tell Trump to fuck off and proceed without us. Apparently Americans just want to be left alone to go back to the perfect American life of the 1950s.
We all know, considering Trump's ego, where this will end, so we should we should cut to the end. The rest of the world should just cease all trade with the US and sign a non-aggression treaty and to protect each other. Let the US be totally isolated and be done with it.
Moreover, America needs to constructively engage China, including other countries in the process to enhance global - economic trade. Sanctions have failed; but instead, created more enemies for America.
Main factor becausry AMERICA is a DICTATORIAL DEMOCRACY COUNTRY, NOT A REAL DEMOCRACY COUNTRY. AMERICA ALWAYS FORCES OTHERS COUNTRY TO DO WHAT SHE ORDER N NOT WHAT OTHERS COUNTRY NEEDS, CHINA ALWAYS GIVES WHAT OTHERS COUNTRIES NEEDS.
When the tide turn, and yes it will; the u s citizens shall pay. The world is round; what goes around comes around. That is why we are supposed to be and should be good to everybody.
Oh yeah ? Where in the Hell did anybody find "Box Cars"? In America 🇺🇸? Thought ALL US 🇺🇸 Box Cars went to Mexico 🇲🇽 decades ago, as America 🇺🇸 switched to Cargo Containers. Most Cargo Containers are originally from China 🇨🇳, and they are also all Made in China 🇨🇳.
Was told somewhere, that shipping empty cargo containers Back to China 🇨🇳 from America cost $ almost as much as constructing new containers in China?
On the overall, America was in Africa for decades before the China came, but failed to do the right thing; such as providing free/or cheap trainings for both economic and infrastructure developments.
On the other hand, China took advantage of America's errors in Africa and provided lots of businesses, trainings, and programs to help Africa develop; and the process is on going.
America needs to change its strategies towards Africa and give more because they have taken too much from Africa and Asia.
Thanks, for reading.
Right vs Wrong, reason vs war,; New World Order vs status quo;trade vs weapon; Belt and Road vs Military Basis;peace and prosperity vs terror and uncertainty ;BRICS vs G7;Doller vs Yuan.
We all know, considering Trump's ego, where this will end, so we should we should cut to the end. The rest of the world should just cease all trade with the US and sign a treaty to protect each other. Let the US be totally isolated and be done with it.
Your historical analysis as to the United States’ economic, cultural and political exploitation of Latin America is “bulls eye” accurate. The US has nothing to offer to developing countries, particularly those in Latin America. The “Southern” group of nations must learn to survive in the face of the exploitive policy of the United States. China presents the “South” with a viable and honorable alternative.
Ramon Carrion
Over the long term, China's cultural influence is going to be as important as the other factors. China is a whole civilization all by itself. In the 16th and 17th century, when Jesuits sent reports back to Europe, they influenced European thinking. Today, China is reviving their culture and the world is about to discover different philosophy, art, music, concepts of beauty and harmony.
This is what happens when greed gets too greedy. America will not bounce back from this. The wrong people are running the country. If you know what i mean.
Look what U S is trying to do to Canada. As we all know Canada is U S's alliance all along, now U S is going to put heavy tariff on Canada's export to U S.
I'm interested in your TV messages to explain how the two gaint country who try influences their systems to the resources and informing people of these systems to have tyres with ..as I'm in Pacific as a solomon island 🇸🇧
I agree broadly with almost all your points but China does intervene in other countries not to create coups or military conflict but to keep or bring a govt that does trade with them
A side effect of growth in China is very polluted water and very degraded seas. The rivers are highly polluted and the seas are some of the most degraded on earth. China is trying to reverse some of this, but it is a slow process, the legacy of fast industrial growth and lax protection. Economics likes growth and does not recognize this aspect at all.
A foolishness’s act. Implementing tariffs as a strategy to isolate oneself from the global market can have significant economic repercussions. While it might be intended to protect domestic industries by making imported goods more expensive, it can also lead to retaliatory tariffs from other countries, sparking trade wars that disrupt international trade. This isolationist approach can increase costs for consumers and businesses, reduce the competitiveness of local industries, and strain diplomatic relations. Furthermore, it can lead to a lack of access to essential goods and technologies, stifling innovation and economic growth. In the long run, such a strategy can diminish a country's influence and integration in the global economy, ultimately harming its economic stability and prosperity.
The emerging crisis threatens private investors in the US and elsewhere who, regardless of their wealth, cannot compete with the deep pockets of Chinese owned companies. If Capitalism worked the way the textbooks say its supposed to work (i.e. perfect competition), I would be horrified by this development. But in the real world, a handful of people/companies have so much power that the choice which must be made is not between Capitalism and Socialism. Rather, the choice is between Oligarchy and Socialism. Would you rather pay allegiance to BlackRock or Xi? That's not much of a choice. And it is just a matter of time before honest people stop using the word Capitalism to describe the US economy.
BRA will not win the influence in the world, because China is helping the world and BRA destroying those small countries. Which one do you prefer to be friend with?
Luckily China is tenacious and gives as good as it gets. They'll shy away from direct confrontation but they do have a red line that shouldn't be crossed or they'll fight back and now their armed forces are modern and well equipped and those are game changers.
According to their Arts of War ; no fight is the best fight of them all.
Public capitalism of China-led BRI (the real face of socialism of Chinese character) verses private capitalism of the US-led B3W initiatives (the ugly face of capitalism).
Adversary??? Its the US tgat called and made China an adversary. Meanwhile China is acting cool and nonchalant while the US like the boy who shouts wolf keep on scaring itself and fighting shadows. Like Mohammed Ali says , folat lijr a butterfly but sting like a bee
Excellent presentation and analysis, thanks! 2 points:
1: China is not benevolent, is even militarily aggressive, far out from its own coasts, interfering with every other (edit: neighboring) country’s sovereign rights, stealing their fish, oil and other minerals. They’ll start an accidental war with a sailing/flying mistake.
2. If the US is firing up the Monroe Doctrine so wrong-headedly over Peru, imagine the late night cigars already fuming over the new Canal proposal.
So China is a stalwart. And T is going to face this challenge with that thing Marco? The Emperor has surrounded himself with illiterate duds. The head of Pentagon couldn’t even name the ASEAN countries. Great!!!!
Never watched you before but this is deep stuff. Are u American? Never heard one state the facts like this, but suspected as much. (Not saying it hasn’t been stated, just never heard). As a Jamaican this clarifies much for me. Appreciate your research n presentation.
Also what usa offers is debt more debt and even more debt. In the 1980s when usa reserve bank put interest rates very high it bankrupt latin America. Most of these countries just simply never recovered.
America, like other similar countries, is in decline when its leaders are 3rd rate. The very smart people in the country opt to work in the private sectors, leaving politics and national affairs to be in the hands of very average people. That is actually why it’s the government of people and by the people.
Ben, it would be very helpful if you had included the situation without the Chancay Port. LIke how does Peru export its goods to China? Via LA port? What about countries like Chile Equador and Bolivia? But overall, excellent news for me.
The Chinese have ramped up production
They have a huge domestic market
That gives them an advantage. Besides they invest heavily in infra structure. Nothing prevents other countries from turning this to their advantage using trade agreements.
SO..., PER AMERICAN UNDERSTANDINGS, TO PROSPER IS DANGEROUS, TO GROW IS A THREAT, TO BE BETTER IS NO GOOD, TO BE STRONGER IS UNACCEPTABLE, TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE IS BAD..., TO RESPECT EACH OTHER IS INCONSIDERABLE, TO LIVE IN PEACE IS UNACCEPTABLE, TO IMPROVE RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER COUNTRIES IS WITH TREACHEROUS INTENTIONS. WOOW WOOW WOOW
The US backyard is making it sound nicer.
The whole American continent, including north and south, is just bithches it owned (in its mindset)
Sorry for being blunt, but think it over. You know it's a fact.
The heart is not more important than the brain or liver but neither can do without the other, humans must learn to co exist because nature and the universe is a balance in every aspect!
All these problems are solved by everyone going back to whence they came. Patriality rules applied in western countries in reverse, so unless an immigrant to a Western country already has a citizen of that country teast as a parent of grandparent, back they go.
I generally agree with you, Ben, re immense growth and prestige of China. But China is also guilty of big nation hubris re China Sea issues with both Vietnam and the Philippines.
Solution for success, not think that you could take whatever you want.
But be genuine friends and buisness partners, were both sides benefits
Building up weapon industry complex as a country largest industry,
Is a really bad idea, it's impossible over time to have a country that depends on weapon industry goes 24-7.
Why ?
Creating war's around the globe to make sure income is stable, over time you get way more enemies around the globe And not friends, it was only question about time before the world joining together against the US and dollar
It's exactly what we all witnesses happening right now, no empires last forever.
Noe this time either....
1. China is gaining global influence because it rejects hegemony (BIG FIST , LONG-ARM CONTROL ). 拒绝霸道、长臂管辖
2. China is more inclined to implement Confucianism and the principles of mutual respect , mutual prosperity and peaceful coexistence. 相互尊重,彼此繁荣,和平共存
USA 'exceptionalism ?' SIMPLY expects Rest of World just to do US bidding, bear USA WOES - just one example here, the 35 Trillion (debt) and piling up fast ( how ?, push to ROW to bear ?,,,,,,,,, )
You lost me when you started talking about Latin America. If the US had not intervened in many countries there they would all be like Venezuela! Wake up.
I watch your channel religiously. The problem with Americans, even “Educated” ones, is they think the US is the center of the world and nothing will happen. I am a citizen who was born in Kenya, where education covered other parts of the globe to make us more informed about all continents and counties around the world. The world bank and the IMF has changed that in Africa by requiring cuts to education and promoting despotic corrupt leaders like Ruto in Kenya. The IMF and World Bank were late though because the Gen Z’s in Kenya and many other African countries understand the instability that the US brings to Africa so they are learning Manganese and other languages to better communicate with a trading partner who is so schizophrenic and only uses threats and tariffs in a one sided relationship. Trump just pushed disinformation in the guise of free speech, his supporters are mainly uneducated, racist or rich so even when they loose benefits they still support the demagogue. The rich like Elon the Narzti will get richer as ignorant racists in Appalachia loose benefits that are paid for by states like New York, Jersey and California but they are too stupid to realize this
America is playing the same old game but its not working anymore. Its a different world today and if U think lieing and bullying nations into mug deals , then Ur really kidding Ur self . Trump is just a bad joke
the answer is simple, because china do with their heart, not bullying, not lying, not demanding, how i can teach this to you, i have no confidence to do that, i'm sorry
America, turn back to God and nuy influence from Israel in the Abraham accords in prder to gain back the respect we need in order yo have world peace!
Especially from the European establishment.
May God bless America and Israel in saving the world
Your videos paint China as a country with generous, non-interventional foreign policies that built trillions of dollars into other countries' infrastructures. However, when countries are unable to pay for China's infrastructure, they may fall into debt traps and give China political influence or strategic assets. For example, Sri Lanka gave China a 99-year lease on a $1.1 billion port in Hambantota after the project was unable to pay its debts.
Please provide balanced reporting instead of a one-sided point of view on China.
Another train buff here. Those gallery cars from Caltrain were funny enough bought used from Chicago's Metra after Metra bought shitty new gallery cars for their fleets. They've has so many issues with them they had to upgrade again with a different company. Those gallery cars Caltrain bought from Metra were built by Budd in 1960s. So... Peru spends $6.2 million on trash that will continue to deteriorate when they could just spend money on new and better equipment from China. And, Blinken gets to lie about donating train cars and worn out Union Pacific units to goodwill.
If we avoid war, the US will eventually decline in influence around the world until it is manufacturing goods only for their own citizens. Of course, this will only provide enough jobs for half the population. Those with reasonable education and intellect will move to other countries, leaving the US to devolve further into a 3rd world, irrelevant country. I am well educated, as an engineer, and retired. I am currently deciding in which country I will reside. I have mos t of my available cash in gold bullion and am currently working on a foreign bank account for the rest.
China's state owned enterprises do persue profit, at least it's the order and a must after 2020.
It's to prepare Chinese state-owned enterprises for international competition, since Beijing realized that soon China will have to face challenges from the western world in every country. In many situations, China would have to defeat the west under western rules.
Thus, Chinese state-owned companies became bigger and bigger, for better risk resistance ability.
Irony from the USA, they were also a colonized country that has its shares of imperialism and choose to side with the imperialist to the point of nearly using imperialism against the Europeans. 22:56
Tariffs are now used as weapons. They are probably good for busting bubbles. It will be fun to observe watch and learn how they will take the users. Year 2025 to year 2029 shall be very exciting and fun to watch!!!.
The China has ethics of humanity but US,UK and NATO countries has ethics of business , for business profit does matter , but ethics of humanity has no profit loss issues so china gaining global influence. i think so
The usa was so deep in sleep.
Because they are day and night are fighting the world comiunty.
And now show the Chinese how to work together whit the rest of the world.
Usa hand are bloody hands and that what Allahnot do like.
Several Chinese infrastructure projects in Africa, particularly those funded through the Belt and Road Initiative, have faced criticism for issues like high debt burdens, poor project execution, and concerns about China gaining undue influence, with examples including Kenya's Standard Gauge Railway, Djibouti's port development, and Zambia's energy projects, where the countries involved have had to grapple with significant debt obligations potentially leading to China exerting greater control over key assets due to their reliance on Chinese loans to complete these projects.
Its interesting to see the possibilities that one ideology - one that the west has always considered the darkside of humanity - can provide in a circumstantial position where mutual respect is at the forefront of negotiation, and the incentives are based on the basic fundamental of trade, an awfully simplistic way of saying it maybe being 'you win, then i win, and we win.'
USA is also busy decoupling young and small businesses and industries in the USA. Makiing it difficult for upcoming small industries ans businesses to stand. Shorting their stock markets to bankruptcy. Allowing short interest etc. Right now,.. Fed making new Business and industries difficult for them to present BOI without it you aill be penalized upto $200,000 to $400,000 yearly. Plus numerous other obstacles too.
Hi Guys THANK YOU ALL FOR A GREAT UPDATE AND INFO ON OUR BIG TWO EMPIRES GOING HEAD TO HEAD WOW WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE AND SEEING THIS TIME IN OUR COMBINED HISTORY OF OUR HUMANITY ️️️️️️
Yes, a lot of half-truths, China isn’t aggressive yet, because China follows a different approach, until you wake up one day and you find out that an inherently authoritarian regime has taken over your country. In reality it’s about which “hegemony” we are more inclined to or less inclined to. China is coercive where its military capabilities allows it to be (south China sea for instance). As the military and economic prowess of China increases so will its appetite to mingle into the affairs of other countries. Let’s not forget that the isolationist USA became a global power and stayed a global power when it tasted the honey of Being a hegemon. China isn’t going back to its historically isolationist roots. It can’t afford it
All manufacturers will bargain others government or the us importers that they will pay tariff then what??
Otherwise China will open up new markets!!!!
Regarding Cal train I can said is true they renovating o did the change to electric. I live close to trains stations and I am aware of that. And I can said is veridic
I’m disappointed, every time you make a major point I feel like giving you more up votes, but I can’t, and that a pity , you deserve a thousand up votes for telling it as it is,
4 Billion is to low your all need 400 billion investment America businesses most really step up to the plate to win this global gamesmanship all America businesses most in back of the line again stop moving slow America all businesses Your all need of the future just invest more profits thinking alway help to destroy dreams for over 200 years
Maybe I just have to play out the video but if china is so strong how are they also supposedly near collapse? Their youth have like a 25% or higher unemployment rate, no one can afford a house… everyone so prosperous but the people can’t scrape by. Everyone over run by rich people exploiting the majority. Ugh.
China, why not studying the china system of success for last 45 years the growath example for other country to follow, look and discuss and discuss not negativiely at its growth.
He forgot to mention the predatory loans china gives those countries most have literally defaulted. Not only that China will loan a country like Peru money to build say a port but Peru pays a chinese company to build the port the chines people live and eat on site so none of the money they borrow even goes toward their economy. And thats exactly what China does with every country it loans money. Not to mention China has largely ended it's belt & road initiative to focus on its floundering economy and crumbling housing market. Terribly bias video.
THE WORKIMG CLASS AND THE MIDDLE CLASS ARE LOOSING with both bullies as china is getting rid off industries in those countries aa china want them to buy Chinese producta
There's some practical reasons reasons why USA doesn't want from that new Peruvian port and that's because Chinese made that port to be able to servis super big which can carry 25-27k containers and theres no port in the USA which can service such big boats unless invest some seriously big money in ports infrastructure which would make USA look backward compared to China in the eyes of Americans which doesnt fit the narative that China is bacward while America is leading power, or imagine if someone go to China sit on the train and make trip of 4hnin which he can travel up to 1000miles while eating, drinking and watching movie in America by car which are the symbol of freedom that trip would lasted at least 3x more 12h and you be exhausted after that unlike after 4h in the train which would be about time needed to travel with ️ presuming airports are often 20 milmfrom city center and the roads are crowded with trafic etc etc its about the same
I see y usa have the most aount of billioners , because somebody have to pay , the working class , tax tax and did i say tax the rest of the world , they learn from england
Israel is. Good luck getting all sellers to intentionally. Get all commissions. U.S. Americans government insurance for guaranteed buy and sell ( the end USA government bonds biggest national debt $36,400,423,407,334. USA. No way to pay the national debt?
You have great YOUTUBE PROGRAMS, SHOWS, or VIDEOS. But some of your advertisements are TOO LONG, even MUCH LONGER than your own YOUTUBE PROGRAMS, SHOWS or VIDEOS taking advantage of our time reserve for you and taking over the time of your great YOUTUBE PROGRAMS, SHOWS or VIDEOS (especially RELIGIOUS ADS which oftentimes totally take over your SHOW)… that is impractical, earthly materialistic opportunism, unfair, shameful, ungodly, unreligious and unjust for your own YOUTUBE PROGRAMS as those ADS CONSUME SO MUCH TIME and we have NO MORE TIME TO LISTEN to your GREAT IDEAS or PROGRAMS...
The fall of the one world currency dollar could lead to the chip because with our leader muk computer skills can not buy or sell w/o the mark they want use the super chip gather more info faster you have to break the government down in order to build it up your way
Do you owe this news channel .? Are you dependant on sponsorships? Do you specialize in financial analysis? Gro Vera Neste Christiansen Vestsidevegen Lomen Valdres Norway
Your video is a bit single sided. E.g. You forgot to mention that tensions with Chinas neighbours in the south china sea are rising and that countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Phillipines are turning to the US for military support. Moreover, many countries in Africa have made bad experience with credits granted by China for infrastructure projects. Even China itself is significantly reducing its foreign investments conducted through the belt and road innitiative.
I love this channel and almost always agree with you, but where is your criticism of the CCP? You live in china and you are always glorifying the country, but you never criticize the system there, for any reason AT ALL. I suspect this will continue with your channel for a year until in a few years you upload your video explaining why you left china and aren't allowed to return. Im sure you will eventually be arrested for some reason given you are a westerner. I hope eventually china will become more welcoming to others, especially fellow marxists. And those who have religious views.
