China should and needs to respond to US piracy of China property in international waters. The US is engaging in piracy like the UK, British during the 1840s Opium Wars. The US is now seizing oil owned by China bound to China from Venezuela. China should not only respond with words like condemnation in the UN but symmetric or asymmetric response like seizing US cargo ships bound for the US or other asymmetric responses like restrictions of rare earths to US. Any non response will be interpreted as weakness from the US, UK, Europe, collective West. The US/Collective west will now escalate testing China's boundaries, redlines because their tariff, trade war has failed so now they resort to physical action to threaten China energy security and sovereignty. The US is the inheritor of the UK, British empire. Both continue to use oil, energy as a chokepoint, hegemonic leverage over rivals, the world including China. China needs to bold and decisive in their response.
