COMMENTS: Trump Second Term Govt & China: Ben Norton

Thank you for having Ben Norton - the voice of wisdom, on your show.
169
Ben is absolutely a legend who understands China so deeply, both of you are amazing journalists we need in this crazy world for truth !
58
Ben Norton is amazingly well-informed.
34
Galloway wisdom: Be it Trump or Harris is the same arse🍑different cheek
188
You are the best daring to tell the truth about US econonies.
9
I have so much respect for China and love for Chinese people.
57
Ben is a good economist. Love intelligent people!
34
Good reporting.. to both of you. Andy and Ben are my favorite reporter.. love your channel. Both.❤❤
85
Great to see both of you finally have a session together. I've been following u both for years. US managed to destroy Japan in the 80's easily but China is different & is well prepared. Thanks for the great content
64
As Ben says, the problem with Trump's rejection of Pompeo and Haley for consideration to be part of the Trump administration is that it was probably based on their perceived lack of loyalty to Trump, rather than any disagreement with their neocon policy positions...
64
Good information and interview. China is not Japan 👏👏👏👏👏👍
71
Racism is alive and well.
26
Andy and Ben would be more valuable to Trump than his entire team of Hawks. Professional journalism and excellent solutions.
14
If Trump is as stupid as putting 60% on all Chinese goods, the US inflation will run wild, and that will expedite the demise of dollar. That will be very sad for American people.
66
TRUMP is again going to use the BLAME ticket.
112
Andy.. Glad you got Ben Norton on. He has a very good analytical viewpoint!
17
We would like to see Professor JEFFREY SACHS as the Foreign Minister. The world 🌎 will be a very peaceful place.
23
Bullying doesn't last forever. Only friendship will last!
9
Firstly, Trump doesn't seem to respect China as an equal. It's not Chyna. It's CHINA 🇨🇳. Don't be a snob.
55
Ben is goated
37
China has a smarter population and larger educated workforce. China will work well and survive and come out stronger. Let the US isolate itself.
174
Ben is an excellent guest speaker. I highly recommend his vlog site. Scapegoating China for what ails the US is like scapegoating Russia for losing an election. This is the behaviour of children, not adults. Unfortunately this is a widespread phenomenon in the west.
18
Thank you for the video. Great questions and great insights.
26
Increase tariffs will Make American Poor Again.
24
Wow thanks Andy inviting Ben Norton very knowledgeable, always well researched on all his subjects, informative & educational material. Reverting as always brilliantly articulated. Always love your insightful podcast. 👌👍🙏
7
I’d like to see Scott Ritter as Secretary of “Defence”, Judge Napolitano as Attorney General, Ben Norton as Trump’s ambassador to China & Andy Boreham as the New Zealand ambassador to China. 🤗
10
In true Broadway style, America has chosen to go out with a bang
10
Trump: “You know how I know the election isn’t rigged? If I win then it isn’t rigged! But if I lose then there’s no doubt about it — the election is rigged!”
17
Yellow peril politics is something that most American politicians agree on.
49
At least Pompeo is rectified 😅☝
48
Very good and informative from this interview. Ben Norton is really know things, hopefully US administration should listen(like in olden days barter trade, give and take) to work out for the US and China relationship-Win-Win concept!!!
5
Trump 2.0 more of the same.
17
Firstly, no matter who is the president, the starting point for US is not what can be of mutual benefits in a US China relationship, but how to stop China at all cost. Secondly, no matter how effective or ineffective the policies or the incumbent or incoming president, there will be changes come another election. So it can only be a downwards spiral until the US finds the cost of hostility too much to bear. Moreover the actual problem is with the American present system itself. Attempts to distract or trying to find a solution elsewhere will not do.

The problem is that there are many more Pompeo types circling around Trump.
16
Don't count on things getting better between China and the US. China should focus on the BRICS+ and Global Majority countries and slowly decouple from the west. It might be painful for China at the beginning but in the long run, it will benefit China as the BRICS+ and Global Majority countries represents a larger and friendlier market compared to the US and EU.
22
There is a saying that when an enemy makes his mistakes, let him carry on through his ego and petulent arrogance. Let trump carry on with his tariffs. The consequences of his actions will only speed up the inevitable of America's downfall with its ever increasing national debt.
6
China existed for 5000 yrs and more, it has survived invasion, occupation, discrimination, isolation, yet… they’ve come so far, and thanks to the leaders of China making China great again!!! They were one of the poorest countries in the world, but now if not first but definitely the second largest economy in the world. God bless China 🇨🇳. Stand tall, stay humble, stand united! Keep it up with your Ai, military, technology, space, economy, and semiconductors. Work together with ASEAN to make Asia great again… excluding one American vassal state Philippines 🇵🇭. God bless China 🇨🇳, Russia 🇷🇺 Malaysia 🇲🇾 Brazil 🇧🇷 South Africa 🇿🇦 Iran 🇮🇷 BRICS.

i see ben norton, i subscribe
2
Good objective opinion❤👍
3
Professor Jeffrey Sachs of economics would be excellent for helping Trump understand the stupidity of sanctions.
5
With Trump, I see the worst of America. Blaming China for your own inept in manufacturing. Outsourcing your IT to India. Meanwhile ignoring the issues in America.
5
Trump will be humbled.
41
Thank u, Andy & Ben . ❤❤🎉🎉 💪 💪
If you know the strength of your enemy and yourself , you need not fear the result of a hundred battles Sun Zhu , the art of war
4
There's no way Trump would alienate Wall Street to help the working class.
3
Seems these kind of leaders who lay blame on external forces rather than themselves are just like leaders in my country. These politicians are about themselves only and totally narcissistic.
3
The u.s. had it's time of rise and prosperity. Nobody has the right to force a country not to prosper it's china's time to rise and prosper. There is no need to fear. Nobody can stop 1.4 billion people. It's a growing market to trade with mutual benefits.
13
Trump is a nut case. Ignorant is in his DNA and the tariff will destroy the Disunited States consumers.😂😂😂
3
May You live in Interesting Times
2
The more USA decouple, the faster dedollarize US currency moves as China has no reason to keep its billions of US bonds which works in China favor. It will also help those US debt trap countries free themselves with cheaper dollars.
6
Hopefully Trump is not that stupid to continue using the same team. Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard and Kennedy Jr should be in his new team. In order to make America great again, he must focus on failing infrastructure, health, education and local social issues.
10
I wonder what impact Elon Musk will have
22
Should interview Daniel Dumbrill on HK riots.
2
I'd love to see Ben and Meirsheimer together
1
It’s gonna be difficult finding worse people than Hailey and Pompeo I would hope … so not betting my house on it but I believe there is hope that it will be a bit better 😂
8
Trump was whacked the 1st time. This time, Trump will be trumpled. And he will stay trumpled 🎉
2
Thanks Andy, for this timely report and choice of guest. Ben Norton's latest 'Geopolitical Economy Report' details why one should remain a tad cynical about Trump's intentions and the eventual makeup of his admin' team; especially as it relates to foreign policy on China. Trump is literally surrounded by anti China neocons, it will be almost impossible for him to avoid resorting once again to including several of them on his team.
1
After facing a surprise Trump Trade War 01 8 years ago, China is now fully prepared and confident in facing the expected Trump Trade War 02 with full confidence and able to minimize all negative consequences
3
One of the primary difficulties of US reindustrialization is that many critical raw materials, refining, and processing of them is either in Russia and China or is controlled by them
1
Great interview! Trump really is a wild card. America and the world for that matter, will be in for a wild ride.
1
I think trump and his team knows of tariff consequences but the question is does American people know?
4
More tariffs, more provocations in regards to Taiwan province, further loss of UA global prestige ...
5
Ka pai Anaru❤

1
It's a no brainer to even ask this question. Devil will never change it's evil.
I am more interested in who’s the first to get fired or resign from Trump’s cabinet! 😂
2
This is off topic but I am not getting new video notifications even when I turned on the bell icon and subscribed. ??
4
This is all on Elon, believe it or Not. Hope we are steps closer to bring PEACE and STABILITY back from this chaotic world.
3
If Trump reverses his past China policy, China is ready to cooperate with the United States at any time. However, the real problem comes from the path dependence formed by the US economic model, which has led to the US being stuck in a dilemma. The divergence of interests in the United States has never been as great as it is today, and I don't think there will be room for further cooperation between China and the United States if there is no consensus within the United States.
3
is that telephone on the table for call-in? :D
2
If US maintain zero sum game think is difficult
3
Douglas McGregor is the best candidate for secretary of state.
Don’t waste time hoping.
4
I believed te US currency will not dedollarised(or replaced) completely but probably will be used to a less extent. The eastern world and the European nations still need to trade with US, hence in US dollar right?
1
I see Trump’s team’s position on tariffs as a strong negotiating position, designed to help Americans in other areas like soybean export to China, which are being seriously clobbered currently. Many US Companies semiconductor exports are also suffering because of sanctions. The negotiating positions will shift and settle into something where both sides can save face.
1
If the Ukraine war the US can not win then there is no point to talk about how to protect Taiwan from the US either.
1
Also, China is not Japan c1990 (?) when US imposed tariffs, it is much stronger.
2
Doesn't matter how loud you shout at the Sun, it will do what it is doing ... the Sun benefited America for a long time, find a better target to shout at America.
1
I disagree that there is similarity to the situation with Japan. While there was trade war then, there was minimal of the hatred towards the race. Today, you have not a few amerikan individuals making statements such as "Japan should have been allowed to turn China desolate..". Extreme hatred of Chinese never ever placed upon the Japanese (apart from in relation to WW2).
1
Get ready for a very different trump presidency as compared to his first term; but whether for the better or for the worse, we will have to wait and see. That's how unpredictable he is. On a plus note, he would love to get the nobel peace prize, on right merits. (PS: Wasn't Pompeo sanctioned by China?)
4
To become american president, choose china or russia as a goat 😂 and say bad rival very much 😂
3
What does it say about Indian Americans (South Asians) in politics in the USA being as anti-China as Modi's India? Curiously the few Chinese Americans who rise to power are also anti-China likely because of their Taiwan roots.
2
Tariffs issue is another economy issue, in fact Trump really can stop wars. I hope stop wars is a good thing.
Might be more economic rather than war..but why not come up with a Win Win..and de dollarisation is a good thing.
Don't ever believe a big mouth trump
1
Who can teach an old dog new trick ?
16
Can you talk about the case the U.S. has against #Huawei
Trump should live China alone and concentrate within the US .
The anti China rhetoric is largely due to the need of competition between the two parties. With the complete monopoly of power now, Trump has no need to fan up the anti China rhetoric any more. On the contrary, if he wants to achieve something great for his legacy, working with China can open up all sorts of possibilities. He should have enough intelligence to see that. The refusal of Pompeo and Hailey may be a sign that Trump is paving a new path forward. This may be a rosy view but nevertheless it is also a real possibility.

There are plenty of neocons for Trump to choose from.
China has prepared itself for years to take on what the Americans can thrown at them. No worries!
three words "we dont care"
elon has a lot to say china police wait to see........
Trump will visit China as one of his new presidential visits before visiting Japan, Korea, Britain or Germany. Israel might be his first trip.
The questions are..... Does China really cares what USA will do? China has already survive all the sanctions invoked by them and China is now leading the economic world. I rhink it is what will USA do to get China help to survive US economiessss
two opposites.... Trump make lots of top headline noise , Xi is forever silent. So Trump thinks he is strong.
No it is not good for china and usa relationship....thank you
Ha secretary of "cost cutting". Kinda shows where the priorities the US have. Not "investing".
Elon Musk might be the Kissinger of the 21st Century.
Rubio is bad news
Boy, what a ray of sunshine on this rainy Monday morning! The craziest of the crazies is this O'Brien guy who wants to deploy all USA Marines to Asia and restart nuclear weapons testing.
Come on, did anyone ever think of working together with china and US will be a par with china growth
The moral of get going & get going in progressive & beneficial manners for the development of society and therefore a country. So the get going must be in a good natures & productive for it to be effective for the betterments of the future. So, when we have so many personnel that are anti this & anti that in a structure or built up a structure, there could actually spoke for itself whether it will be an auspicious & felicity future. Becos, having anti these & that is actually narrowing the scope ( all aspects) & stymie on progressions as it is seems liken to self sequestered. It is just as refusing to interact. Anti is killing every prospects. The whole ideas about get goings in itself is interactions in all aspects for betterments and not anti which kill all aspects. Only interactions ones will have endless scopes. For better world Disclaimer - for academic purpose only & based on conjectures.

The MIC is heavily dependent on Chinese supply chains. Will Trump put tariffs on these? I heard a statistic that China has reduced their dependence on USA trade to less than 3% of GDP. Is this true?
If he's got any brain at all he will be.
Elon “backdoor” Musk. For whom??depend on situation.
I fully agree that we should not expect much from Trump, but he HAS branded himself as "the anti-war guy". I don't put much stock in that but the fact that he is considering looking OUTSIDE of Washington for cabinet members should not be dismissed out of hand. At the end of the day, none of us really know what Trump is going to do. I do think that Trump will not be as irrelevant as he was in his last term. We will all see, I guess.
Donald Trump try many time to nuke china but his adviser held him down to calm down lol
I would like Ron Clark to be appointed Secretary of Education after Musk(?) cuts the waste that prevents students from learning. Money money money isn't necessary for students to learn. Harriet Washington to be appointed Secretary of Healthcare and Alternative Medical Wellness. The Dept of Health and Human Services has been a failure and needs to be shutdown and replaced by the Office for National Healthcare and Alternative Medical Wellness. Bryan Stevenson should be appointed Secretary for the Protection of Children; ejidotorg

Vivek during his campaign said something interesting about foreign policy. He said the US should set clear expectations and discuss openly about US strategic interest. The exemple he gave was to tell China that until Taiwan stops being essential for semi conductors, China needs to not interfere. Basically setting realist expectations instead of liberal virtue signaling using freedom for Taiwan as the diplomatic angle. Still rough diplomacy but at least a more transparent relation.

There won't be a Trump 3.0
I think Ben s views are the opposite extreme. Yankee farmers are going bankrupt. It limits what Yankees can do. Japan is not China.
